Digitalbrain point of view

My aim as a content manager at digitalbrain was to follow E2BN's requirement to get schools working on the Local Heroes project but to limit the involvement to a reasonable level which they would be happy with.

I wanted to have children become more aware of their surroundings. I wanted them not take a building, a statue a tourist brochure at face value. I wanted them to delve behind the surface, to undertake a voyage of discovery where history and the present day are intimately linked. I was also enthusiastic about reading up about the heroes we eventually chose, but as so often happens became obsessed with finding out more and more! It became a question of what to miss out.

Diane at E2BN saw great potential in the project for involving other schools and having them submit their own project. I was a bit sceptical for a start but when I saw the results of what could be achieved I was stunned and think it has added immensely to the potential of the project. (See Submit YOUR local hero).
